TTG-ready publishers (TTG-RPs) can make TTG-allowed changes to submitted photos

. . . in order to increase a photo’s suitability for the TTG label.

• The TTG-RP is permitted to make any TTG-Allowable Changes that the TTG-RP determines will bring the photograph closer to the rinairs standards of P7 in the Trust Test.

• The TTG-RP is not permitted to make any changes that take the photograph further from the rinairs standards of P7 in the Trust Test.

• The TTG-RP is not permitted to make any changes not on the TTG Allowables list.

An example of this allowance would be if a trusted news provider received a TTG-labeled spot-news photo in which the saturation levels were cartoonishly high. If the photo is deemed to otherwise be suitable for publication, this policy means the news provider would be permitted to moderate the saturation levels in order to not damage the provider’s credibility.
