Proposing alternatives
In multiple places on this website, encouragement is extended to those who believe they have a better solution:
“Write it up, post it online, and invite comments.”
Examples of subjects for these alternative proposals include
• A better way to counter the deluge of AI images than identifying trustworthy image sources through trust tests (Home page #2–3)
• Putting forth a photograph that is completely objective
• “Some, but not unlimited, allowance” for AI-generated content
• “Some, but not unlimited, allowance” for post-exposure blurring of undesirable parts of photographs (fokeh; see #2104)
• “Some, but not unlimited, allowance” for post-exposure reshaping of things in photographs (perspective correction; see #2209)
• “Some, but not unlimited, allowance” for overlaying photo credits, watermarks, and other words and graphics in the image area
“Couldn’t someone make a standard that’s like TTG but less strict?”
(See especially #11 on that linked page)
