Tones and colors

“Tones and colors” is simply a user-friendly term for “light”-related aspects of the depiction of things in photographs.

Most depictions of things in photographs have both “light”-related aspects and non-“light”-related aspects.

Changes to “tones and colors” (that is, changes to a photograph’s “light”-related aspects) are the first item in TTG’s Allowable Changes list linked in P2.

Sometimes changes (or “corrections”) to tones and colors are not only possible but necessary for the photograph to meet P7.
