The term “straight photography” is never used on this website to describe TTG photographs or any other images.

The term “straight photography” means so many different things to so many different people — just like the word art — that the term “straight photography” is no longer helpful in clarifying what is being discussed.

The term “TTG” fills only some of the roles that the term “straight photography” filled in the past, but — because of the Trust Test — fills those roles with much more specificity.
