Advantages of monosites for TTG photographers

TTG photographers can use their monosite’s URL as the ‘name’ that they attach to the TTG label.

  • 1. Every monosite has a unique name

Every website in the world has a unique name, making a monosite ideal for the many photographers who don’t have a unique given name or a social-media username that they want to use. (See also UOI.)

  • 2. All viewers of the TTG label also see the name of the photographer’s monosite

When a monosite is used as the photographer’s “name” to back up the TTG label, viewers who see the label instantly see the name of the photographer’s website, with no web search needed.

  • 3. A monosite lets people can see more of the photographer’s work without going to social media

Large swaths of the public do not participate in social media; a monosite gives photographers a separate opportunity for showing their work.

  • 4. A monosite gives photographers room to explain themselves

A monosite provides TTG photographers with as much space as they want to express their personal approach toward photography, to explain when they make TTG vs. when they make non-TTG photos, and to describe the circumstances behind the making of their TTG-labeled photos that are likely to get attention.

  • 5. A monosite is not affected by the actions of others

Social media platforms can acquire “changed reputations” over time based on actions of the user base or decisions of the platform owners.

With a monosite, the photographer is always in complete control.

  • 6. A monosite can show supporting images

A monosite makes it easy for a TTG photographer to show supporting images (see #5 here) — including even videos when desired — that would clutter up the photographer’s social media account and are unlikely to be published by a TTG-ready publisher.

  • 7. A monosite can show supporting data

A monosite allows infinite room to publish supporting data (see #5 here) that is unlikely to be published by a TTG-ready publisher.

Note that the TTG label may be disregarded when tied to an inactive monosite; see #6 here

What about a website dedicated to a small group of TTG photographers instead of only one photographer?
