blemishes (there are two categories)

• NOT Correctable: Blemishes on the subject are “part of the scene being depicted,” and even when they are two-dimensional they are considered forms and shapes.

Thus — as per P2 — in a TTG photograph blemishes cannot be added, deleted, replaced, resized, recolored, moved, modified, blurred, or reshaped apart from the effects of TTG’s Allowable Changes.

“But I’m just making it look the way the subject could have looked!”

• Correctable: Blemishes on the lens or sensor can cause visual effects were not part of the scene depicted. These effects are considered “surface flaws” and can be corrected in TTG photographs, as per Allowable Change #3.
